JEFFERSON CITY, MO – Missouri State Treasurer Vivek Malek today announced strong results from the most recent MOBUCK$ Agriculture application period, highlighting widespread participation from farmers and ranchers and continued confidence in Missouri’s agricultural economy.
During the application window, agricultural producers across the state utilized the MOBUCK$ portal to access low-interest financing through participating local lenders. In total, 158 linked deposit applications were approved, representing more than $63 million dedicated to supporting farming operations, equipment purchases, and long-term capital investments throughout Missouri’s agricultural sector.
“This latest round of MOBUCK$ Agriculture applications demonstrates the strength and resilience of Missouri agriculture,” said Treasurer Malek. “Farmers and ranchers are continuing to invest in their operations and plan for the future, and MOBUCK$ helps ensure they have access to affordable financing options that support growth and stability.”
The MOBUCK$ Agriculture program partners with qualified financial institutions to reduce interest rates for borrowers. By leveraging state deposits, the program lowers borrowing costs by approximately 2 to 3 percent, providing meaningful savings for producers during a time of fluctuating input costs and tight operating margins.
The program offers several targeted linked deposit options designed to meet the needs of Missouri agriculture, including Farming Operations, Beginning Farmer, Agribusiness, Livestock Operations, and Facility Borrower programs. These options allow producers at various stages of operation to access financing aligned with their specific business needs.
This application cycle also demonstrated the efficiency and reliability of the MOBUCK$ process. Nearly all applicants successfully completed required steps, including tax clearance, and gained approval within the 30-day post-application period, reflecting coordination among borrowers, lenders, and program administrators.
The strong response to this application period underscores the continued importance of MOBUCK$ as a financial tool for Missouri agriculture. By facilitating dependable, affordable access to capital, the program helps ensure farmers and ranchers remain competitive and well-positioned for long-term success.
