Treasurer Vivek Malek Celebrates Winners of MOST 529 Scholarship Giveaway

JEFFERSON CITY, MO – The MOST 529 Scholarship Giveaway, presented in partnership with Upromise, helps Missouri families save for education by turning everyday purchases into opportunities to earn rewards. Participants enter by linking their Upromise account to an active MOST 529 account and earning cash-back rewards, with each reward increasing their chances to win a scholarship.
One winner from Kansas City, Missouri, who received a $529 deposit into their MOST 529 account, shared: “I encourage everyone to participate as the funds really help with educational costs. I wish I had started earlier but it's never too late to start.”
Another recipient from Florissant, Missouri, added: “This reward will go towards completing my educational goals and ultimately becoming an elementary education teacher. Thanks again for investing in my future.”

Since Treasurer Malek took office, Missourians have opened nearly 12,000 new accounts, and families have entrusted almost $5 billion to the program. MOST 529 allows families to save for education with tax-free growth and offers a state income tax deduction of up to $8,000 per person, or $16,000 for married couples filing jointly.
“Behind every account is a Missouri family taking charge of their future: parents saving for a first day of kindergarten, teens preparing for a trade, or grandparents helping with college,” Malek said. “These accounts tell a story of foresight and care.”
