State Treasurer Clint Zweifel earns "Excellent" audit rating from State Auditor

"Excellent" rating is one of only three the Auditor has issued

JEFFERSON CITY – State Treasurer Clint Zweifel (ZWY-ful) issued a statement following today’s release of an "Excellent" audit rating his office earned from State Auditor Tom Schweich. The audit may be downloaded here.

The "Excellent" audit rating earned by Treasurer Zweifel is the highest rating the Auditor gives, and is one of only three "Excellent" audit ratings the Auditor has issued out of 133 audits conducted.

"This ‘Excellent’ audit rating has been given on less than 3 percent of the Auditor’s audits, and shows we are getting results for Missourians in a responsible way," Treasurer Zweifel said. "Those results are clear – we protected Missouri’s stellar Aaa bond rating, reduced spending, achieved record growth for our college savings plan, invested more money than ever before in Missouri jobs, entrepreneurs and farms and returned the most Unclaimed Property in state history. I appreciate Auditor Schweich’s efforts in reviewing my office, and am proud to receive an ‘Excellent’ rating."

Treasurer Zweifel’s administration is audited yearly, and has received a clean audit every year.
